Scriptera

Helping Scriptera Unlock the Power and Data Behind Big Pharma

OVERVIEW:

Scriptera is a leading organization that specializes in providing pharmaceutical companies with state-of-the-art analytics software. My goal is to empower these companies by offering them real-time data that enables them to effectively monitor and analyze the performance of specific drug brands. The core objective of this project is to develop a user-friendly platform tailored to the needs of pharmaceutical vendors. Through this platform, vendors will be able to access a vast amount of data on leading drugs, allowing them to make informed decisions and enhance their compliance systems.

My aim was to create the most comprehensive and accessible compliance system in the Pharmacy Industry, ensuring that vendors have the tools they need to navigate regulatory requirements effectively. In addition to providing a cutting-edge platform, my self and the partner team strived to foster strong and enduring partnerships within the industry. By collaborating with pharmaceutical vendors, Scriptera aimed to drive sustained profitability and growth, benefiting both the vendors and delivering innovative solutions that transform the way pharmaceutical companies operate.

Discovery

Gearing up UX solutions and design strategies for implementation

As my team and I started vamping up our design solution strategy, it was imperative that we learned as much about our target audience’s needs as quickly as possible as we only had a short 4 week turn around time on the design schematics in order to meet the client’s very tight deadline. Working closely along side the main client stakeholder and a sales director, I established a quick run down of our client’s partner’s target audiences needs for the software launch, ideating what the initial general needs are going to be. Since the primary target group would be physicians, clinics and pharmaceutical organizations, I discovered that I had to make fluid and easily digestible and understandable colorful graphic visual points of the different types of data that they would be interested in having accessible to them.

After conducting in-depth research to gain a thorough understanding of our users, I proceeded to streamline and enhance the requirements that I had initially outlined during the early stages of the project. Despite the abundance of data available, our main goal was to create a user experience that is not only engaging but also purposeful and cohesive. To achieve this, I began by prioritizing the primary user tasks and designing intuitive workflows around them. Subsequently, I expanded upon these core tasks by integrating additional features that would seamlessly support and enhance the overall user experience. By focusing on the users’ needs and ensuring a smooth execution of their essential tasks, I aimed to deliver a product that not only meets their expectations but also provides them with an effortless and meaningful interaction.

IA AND DESIGN STRATEGY

Creating a strategic framework for the platform

Given the extremely tight timeline, I had to transition to the design phase at an accelerated pace. Recognizing that in-depth research, high-fidelity wireframes, and a comprehensive competitor analysis would consume a significant amount of time, I opted to pivot towards low-fidelity prototypes.

Leveraging my extensive experience in UX and UI design, coupled with my thorough knowledge base of similar platforms on the market, I was able to rapidly create low-fidelity wireframes that aligned with the specific needs of the target user group and adhered to the organization’s KPIs. This facilitated prompt feedback and collaboration with the client stakeholders, thereby expediting the project development process.

Below are some of the initial implementation low-fidelity wireframes and design solutions that I developed:

Version 1.0 – All the necessary data points are positioned in accordance to the UX strategy and interaction guidance

Version 2.0 – Due to the data’s ability to be changed dynamically, each data widget must be equal in size and structure to allow a proper responsive and flowable grid structure.

Version 3 – Due to the need to increase the amount of viewable data, I streamlined the grid structure, removing unnecessary data points and increasing the grid allowance

Final Dashboard – Integrated a vertical sidebar panel to increase the viewable data columns available that would collapse/expand upon user’s engagement, but only when customized to a 3 or more grid layout.

CREATIVE STRATEGIES

Creating Individual experiences with customizable dashboards, widgets and more

Scriptera wanted every partner to be able to have a unique experience when using their software, to make it feel it was theirs. From the insertion of their company logo to font sizes to the branded colors and background imagery, I designed a customizable experience that would be set up from launch with a sales representative who would create a uniquely branded theme for their teams. Once logged into the software, different targeted user groups, such as admin, super admins, and general users, would have access to specific tools and abilities based on their user type, identified by super admins during the account set-up. I designed and directed every step of the user experience right from the log-in screen to sharing automated reports ensuring that every interaction and interface experience was beautiful experience.

FINE-TUNING THE DETAILS

Every touchpoint matters, so I made sure every interaction is pertinent to the overall user's experience

To ensure a positive user experience, we dedicated careful attention to every interaction within the platform, striving for seamless and user-friendly experiences. From customizable branded dashboards to intuitive slide-out menus, interactive data charts, and streamlined report management, our aim was to provide a comprehensive and cohesive platform experience for every user.

By incorporating these features and experiences, we have crafted a user-friendly environment that promotes ease of use and coherent navigation. Our focus on user-centric design ensures that users can effortlessly navigate the platform, customize their dashboards, access interactive data charts, and efficiently manage reports. These elements come together to create a unified and intuitive experience for all users.

Customizable data widgets

As more data is collected through dynamically collected data points via partnered vendors, more data becomes available which is customizable right on the main dashboard. It’s simple. A user can just toggle on and off what data sets they want and it uploads directly onto the dashboard for quick and easy viewable access.

Interactive and detailed data reports

From National Usage Data, Fill and Distribution Analytics, broken down by city state, and zip, to subscribing pharmacists and doctor profiles, users can easily and quickly find out how often and when drugs are being distributed and to whom, as well as who is a top prescription writer – bridging the accountability gap on medicinal use.

Customizable navigation, tool bars and sidebars

The fluid grid and drag-and-drop options allow users and admins to organize their content the way they want, from top to bottom and side to side. Additionally, all toolbars are collapsable hide and show optional, allowing users to not take up valuable data real estate on the platform.

Automated report management & sharing

One of the highlighted and most requested feature was the ability to automate not only popular drug reports to be made available on the platform, but also emailed on scheduled date and times. In addition, I added the feature to be able to share and customize recipient lists for live and automated data report sharing.

“David executed on this project perfectly and was the project leader we needed. He was an absolute pleasure to work with. From start to launch, he has ensured we hit every mark along the sprints and with minimal changes. We cannot wait to get to development and get Scriptera officially launched in Q4.”

Every touch-point and user interaction matters when developing a software that will be used by some of the brightest minds in their respected industries. Once designs were presented, approved and then tested by targeted user groups, we were able to put together a solid usable platform, ensuring every thing the user needed and interacted with was accounted for. Below are just some of the screen points to showcase the ideology of the overall user experiences.

Houston, we're ready for launch!

Working on this project has been an incredible experience, especially due to the fantastic collaboration with the Scriptera team. Currently, the project is in the final stages of development and fine-tuning, with plans for an anticipated launch in Q4 of 2021.

Once the project is launched, our focus will shift to closely monitoring user behavior and gathering valuable data. This information will enable us to identify which features and information users find most valuable, allowing us to enhance the overall user experience. We intend to continuously gather data, make necessary adjustments to the platform, and regularly release updates. Throughout this process, maintaining a strong commitment to meeting the needs of our users remains of utmost importance to the Scriptera team. I am genuinely excited to witness the evolution of this web application.

In my role, I took the lead in overseeing and supporting the design project, which involved meticulous scrutiny of over 100 screen variations and touchpoints. Additionally, I developed an interactive guide and comprehensive requirements for the development team, which ultimately shaped the final product. I fostered close collaboration with Product Owners, Project Managers, Developers, and stakeholders on both the partner and client sides, ensuring the successful delivery of the project with a significant 17% under-budget profit margin.

Overall, it has been a rewarding experience contributing to this project and I look forward to witnessing its continued success. Next, I will start tackeling the website to market this new software.
